The Choice of the General-purpose Inventer Model
The series and capacity of an inverter should be taken into consideration when it comes to the choice of the inverter model. For a general-purpose inverter, whether the specific needs can be fulfilled by the function of inverter is essential.
For the choice of a general inverter, what matters the most is that the rated current of motors is no more than that of the inverter. And it is also very important to know about the condition of the load equipment, the type and performance of the motor. It’s better to leave some margin.
The 3 types of equipment in industrial production are constant torque load, constant power load, fan/water pump load. The choice of inverters varies with the different production feature, regardless of the motor power.
For example:
When the motor power is 11kw in field work, you can make the choices as follows:
Inverters AMK-15G or inverters of bigger capacity with constant torque load;
Inverters AMK-11G with constant power load;
Inverters AMK-11P with fan/water pump load.
Please be aware that the roots blower is constant power load, the deep-well pump and shell-pump from water pump are constant power/torque load.
Please mind these things while choosing the inverter model:
1. Choose the general inverter according to the load characteristic, as AMK 3800 seris for constant torque load.
2. Choose the general inverter according to the actual motor current instead of the rated motor power. It would be the best choice if the actual work current is 90% of the inverter’s rated current.
3. The capacity of inverter should be 1.2-1.5 times of the total capacity of all the motors that the inverter’s working for.
4. When choosing the inverter for inertia load, braking resistance can be a support. If not so, you can chosse the inverters of bigger capacity when the braking torque is suitable.
