    Intelligent power module (IPM) is a kind of power integrated circuits,which integrated the IGBT with high speed and low power drive circuit and protection circuit together, so it has integrated, multifunctional, fast speed, low power and high reliability features, these features are presented below:
 1.With the driving circuit. Inverter factory are setting to optimal driving conditions,the connection line between driving circuit and a IGBT is very short, the output impedance is low, and no need to add the reverse bias.
2.With driving power supply under voltage protection. When the driving power supply voltage is less than the specified value, produced under voltage protection. Each basic drive power has under voltage protection function.
3.With overheat protection. The insulating substrate in IPM is provided with a temperature detection element and detection on an insulating substrate temperature, for the protection of the abnormal heating tube core.
4.With over current protection, short circuit protection. Because the direct detection of the collector current of each IGBT, regardless of which IGBT is abnormal, can be protected.
 5.With alarm output. Whether IPM any fault occurs, all the external output fault alarm, treated by the frequency inverter control system.
