Inverters Have Increasing Potential in Textile Machinery Industry
Over recent years, the adoption of new technologies improves the equipment level of China’s textile machinery industry, which is best demonstrated by rapier looms and air jet looms having high level of mechanical-electrical integration. Electric rapier looms and air jet looms comprise the mechanical-electrical integration of electric let off, reeling, weft insertion, weft selection, etc. Electric control system optimization controls each institution, improves technique suitability, and enables equipments to automatically alter textile design, test and analyze defects and adjust weft density and errors, greatly enhancing the operation speed and efficiency of textile machines.
Inside trade experts after investigating equipments of current textile enterprises believes that China’s textile machinery enterprises are still using those equipments produced in 1970s and 1980s, accounting for 30%, but the total power consumption of these equipments take up about 30%-50%. Now the weighted average of China’s textile enterprises’ various motors is 3 to 5 percentage points lower than that of foreign ones, the efficiency of heating systems and pumps is 2-3 percentage points lower than that of develop countries, and the operation efficiency of motor drive systems is almost 20% lower than that in foreign countries. If 10% of total motors need to be reformed, calculating 4,000 hours running every year, 20%-25% power can be saved. From this, the energy-saving of motor system market is the potential field in China’s energy-saving market in textile machinery industry. The adoption of high-tech provides material safeguard for improving quality and production efficiency of yarn, reducing use of work force and raising labor productivity.
Among all energy consuming industries in China, the textile machinery industry, though energy consumption is less than power, energy, and paper making industries, has less than 20% motors with frequency control in all motors used. Frequency control motor market takes up less than 15% in China’s textile machinery industry, while China’s inverter market maintains a high growth rate of 26.8% in the past 10 years. In the next decade, the demand for textile machinery in China is still strong. With the mature of applications of control and energy-saving technologies, the inverter market in textile machinery will reach as many as 5 billion to 10 billion yuan.
